STUDY TIPS (adapted from an ISU instructor) Want to be more successful in your classes?
Here are
a dozen suggestions from your instructor:
1. Come to class (preferably
well-rested).
2. Do the homework assignments, even make up work.
3. Review (and even rewrite) your notes
4.
Review old exams for the semester test.
5. Read the assigned pages from
the text.
6. Emphasize meaning & application vs. memorization.
7. Don't "lose sight of the forest for the trees"; make sure you understand
the meaning and definition of concepts & terms.
8. Don't procrastinate;
keep up with the material and study w/ classmate(s).
9. Get a good night's
sleep, & especially the night before exam days; don't drastically alter your routines in life the day & night
before a test.
10. Review study guides.
11. Avoid or reduce test anxiety via preparation and perspective.
12.
Maintain a positive, optimistic attitude.
